ACHS OnCall can reach you by text message (SMS), push notification, voice call, and email. You choose which ones you get in the app's Settings. This page explains how text notifications work and what to do if you're not receiving them.
Open Settings in the ACHS OnCall app. Under your primary phone number, switch on the channels you want to receive:
A green toggle means that channel is on. For text alerts, make sure SMS Notifications is green. You can turn on more than one channel at a time.
The most common reason is a carrier-level block on your phone — and it's something only you can clear from your own device.
If you ever replied STOP to a text from ACHS OnCall — even by accident, even a long time ago — your phone carrier permanently blocks all future texts from that number until you turn them back on. No app setting or administrator can override this; the block lives at the carrier, not in the app.
To lift the block, send a text message with the single word START to the number that ACHS OnCall texts you from:
START and send it.Don't know your number? Ask your ACHS OnCall administrator for your alert / forwarding number, then text START to it.
If SMS is switched on in Settings and you've texted START but still aren't getting alerts, check that:
your correct mobile number is listed as your primary phone in Settings; your phone has signal or Wi-Fi calling; and the number hasn't been entered with a typo. If all of that looks right, contact your ACHS OnCall administrator so they can confirm your provider record and delivery status.
Quick recap: Turn on SMS Notifications in Settings → if texts still don't arrive, text START to your ACHS OnCall number → still stuck, ask your administrator.
